Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 Gillingham: The Dreams Stand View

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Sitting there in the away end, the “Dreams Stand,” at Adams Park, the home of football team Wycombe Wanderers and rugby union side London Wasps, there were plenty of negative emotions I could’ve felt.
It was the “Clash of the Titans” on April 11 down in the fourth level of the English football hierarchy, as third-place [...]

Gillingham Football Club: The Problems

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Angry. Annoyed. Frustrated. But above all, just disappointed. The general consensus amongst Gillingham fans are that these are the emotions we currently feel.
Today was yet another stupid, totally avoidable defeat against a team we see on the fixture list in this vital run-in and think: must win, should win.
We must win at home to Barnet, [...]

Action and Reaction as Grimsby Town Damage the Gillingham Promotion Push

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

Action
Gillingham’s quest for promotion glory from League Two was dealt a serious blow yesterday, as the Gills lost 3-0 to relegation strugglers Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.
Jean-Louis Akpra Akpro’s strike on 33 minutes gave the home side a 1-0 lead, after following up a shot from Nick Hegarty which had struck the post.
Up until that moment, it had been [...]

Lackluster Gills Edge Past Chester City

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

They may have won 2-0, but no way was today’s game as comfortable as it sounds. It was a lackluster performance by Gillingham today, and with the game still at 0-0 with 70 minutes gone, one could only think here we go again.
No matter who we were playing, things were going to be tough [...]

Five-Star Gillingham Make it Four in a Row at Priestfield

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

After the disappointments of defeats to Exeter City and Colchester United, Gillingham got back to winning ways with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Morecambe.
It was Morecambe’s first ever League encounter with Gillingham, and it was one to forget for The Shrimps, as goals from Mark Bentley, a double from Simeon Jackson, Nicky Southall, and [...]

The 35 year-old Nigerian international Efetobore Sodje has been released by Gillingham today, after agreeing a deal to terminate his contract.

Stimson Puts Trio Up For Transfer

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Mark Stimson has chosen to make Efe Sodje, Delroy Facey and Aaron Brown up for sale or loan agreement by placing them on the transfer list.
All three of the players were signed a year ago by previous manager Ronnie Jepson, and Stimson obviously can’t see a future for them at the Gills.
If they are to [...]
